Q. How much does it cost to build a website?

A. There are multiple factors that are taken into account when quoting your website. The most common factors are:

• How many pages your website will require.

• The amount of graphic design and photography your website will require and how much of this you can provide us to work with.

• Can website content be provided in a digital format (e.g. a Word or PDF document) or will it be hand-written. Extra costs will be involved if Thinkbox Games is required to prepare original content for your website.

• Has web hosting and domain registration already been arranged or will these be required as well.

• Do you want to sell products from your website? And if so, will you also require a payment gateway such as PayPal?

• Do you want the ability to manage and administer the content of your website? If so, a CMS (Content Management System) can be explored to suit the needs of your website.

Our web design packages start as low as $1320.00 (inc. GST) for a six page website. Please note that this price does not include web hosting or domain registration.

Q. How long does it take to design and develop a website?

A. The time it takes to design and develop a website depends on the scale and complexity of the website. Generally speaking, we can produce a six page website in a fortnight and anything up to twenty pages in around a month.

For larger scale projects, we will provide you with a timeline outlining the milestones and target dates of your projects development.

Q. What is a domain name?

A. A domain name is the term used to describe the address of a particular website on the internet. Your browser uses a domain name to find a website. Domains come in a variety of forms including .com (commercial), .org (organisation), .gov (government) and .edu (educational). The majority of Australian websites use a .com.au domain name.

We can help you select the most suitable domain name for your business and arrange for it to be registered. We can also arrange for a currently owned domain name to be transferred to Thinkbox Games so that we can administer it for you.

In most cases, our clients find our domain pricing significantly cheaper that their previous provider!

Q. What is web hosting?

A. Web hosting is the term given to the storage space provided by an ISP (Internet Service Provider) to store your website so that it can be viewed on the Internet. Every website requires a hosting provider and Thinkbox Games has a range of hosting packages to suit the individual needs of any website.

Web hosting is not included with our web design packages and must be arranged separately. This allows our clients the flexibility of choosing their own hosting provider if they wish to whilst still having their website designed by Thinkbox Games.

We offer website hosting from as little as $229.00 (inc. GST) per year. All of our hosting packages come with a traffic statistics program allowing you to closely monitor the traffic to your website.

Q. I already have a website hosting or domain registration with another company; can I transfer this hosting/domain to Thinkbox Games?

A. Yes. We can assist you in transferring any web services including domains and hosting from another company to Thinkbox Games. In order for this to occur, we may require specific details of your current domain and hosting provider.

Q. Can I have Thinkbox Games design my website and select my own hosting provider?

A. Yes. We arrange web hosting and domain registration separate to our web design packages to allow our clients this option. In some cases, we may need to discuss your websites requirements with your selected ISP to ensure they are fully capable of handling all aspects of your website (e.g. A database driven e-commerce website may require services that some ISPs cannot provide).

Q. Do I need to be located in the regional Victoria area to work with Thinkbox Games?

A. No. Whilst being located within the regional area allows us to interact with you in person, it is not a necessity to work with Thinkbox Games. We have worked with numerous clients throughout Australia without once meeting in person. This is achieved with constant client communication throughout their projects development via e-mail, instant messaging or telephone.

Q. Do you require a deposit before commencing work?

A. Depending on the size of your project, we may require an up-front deposit. Generally a deposit is only required for projects in excess of $2,000. This deposit will usually be equated at half the amount of your total project cost.

Q. My website isn't appearing on any search engines. What can I do to resolve this?

A. Thinkbox Games includes a series of steps to improve your websites search results on search engines with all of our web design packages. Please be aware that it can take a few weeks before your website begins to appear on search engines. This is due to the time it takes for these search engines 'web crawlers' or 'spiders' to search the internet for new or updated websites and add these websites to their search index.
